Eating Out at an Indian Restaurant and Making a Balanced Meal Selection to Get Protein, Carbs, and Fiber

By Anna O.

How are you doing with your Weight Loss Program?

Have you tasted Indian food?  You can enjoy a healthy meal by going out to an Indian Restaurant without worrying about many heavy calories.

For example, I went to Taj Mahal Restaurant in Encino for the Lunch Buffet and had a delicious balanced meal.  For the occasion, I wear a traditional Indian outfit just to be in the spirit for sharing about their meals.

I love NAAN bread!!!!  It's a flat bread that satisfy my "carb cravings."

To keep my balanced meal, I selected Tandoori chicken, lentils, and pillao rice.

Tandoori chicken provides you with protein.  Tandoori was named after the Indian Tandoor.  Chicken is prepared in a clay oven after it has been marinated in yoghurt and spices.

For dessert, I had famous Kheer, which is something similar to rice pudding.  Kheer is a traditional Indian and Pakistani rice pudding dish, typically made by boiling rice with milk and sugar. It is often flavored with cardamom and pistachios.

I added on top of the Kheer "fennel seeds" to improve digestion.  Fennel helps you get rid of bloated stomach.
