Burning calories Ballroom Dancing

It's Saturday!  Hip hip hurrah!

I'm getting ready to go to my ballroom dancing night.  I don't exercise during the day, just do basic stretching because I will dance almost 3 hours.  Hence, there goes my cardio exercise workout to burn calories and get rid of body fat to get my flat stomach.  It is my weight loss motivation and I am working on my abs exercises.

I love combining my dances ... rumba and chacha as "the ones to calm down and give me time to recover from a high impact cardio dance just like the JIVE, ROCK and ROLL, and MERENGUE. 

If you really want to burn fat fast then do not skip any JIVE.  A good weight loss tip for dancing the JIVE is to do a combination of kicks to increase your heart beat and make you burn  fat faster.  My favorite Jive/swing song is Glenn Miller's "IN THE MOOD" It is like running fast for 3 minutes and sweating like crazy! 

Among the cumbias, I like "Se Me Perdio La Cadenita." Hopefully, my DJ friend Biba will play it tonight. Cumbias are more to tone the stomach, midsection, obliques, abs.  Most of Latino dancing requires hip movements, so you workout your obliques and the entire abs.  I love Cumbias... they are part of my weight loss plan to achieve my flat stomach.


 Yesterday, I ate my pasta for early dinner to have enough carbs to burn as fuel today.

This morning, I had my protein drink and a balanced breakfast to get my energy and boost my metabolism. 

Estimated calories you can burn during a 1-hour ballroom dancing:

Dancing, Ballroom fast   300-450 calories
Dancing, ballroom slow  150 - 300 calories

Now... let me see if my black dress fit...... 

Almost there.... it fits.  Yet, I am still have to work on toning my abs to get my flat stomach.

    I had such a great time dancing and burning calories. I did remember to dance every JIVE to burn more calories and boost my metabolism.

    Also, my DJ friend Biba played my favorite cumbia song "Se Me Perdio la Cadenita." I danced with my Peruvian friends and my Greek friend.

    By the way, my Greek friend is learning how to shake it, she's getting the latino hip movements and enjoy dancing.

    I also saw my Italian friend who came from Italy after 1 month. The band was excellent. They played my favorite Van Morrison song "Brown Eyes Girl."

    After all, my black dress fit perfectly. My Bolivian friend and most at the ballroom dancing noticed that I have lost weight. 

    Well..... now.. another week to prepare my next ballroom dancing dress and learn some new steps.
