Melt Belly Fat, Balance Blood Sugar and Lose 10 Pounds

By Anna O.

Have you been dieting and exercising without melting belly fat?  Fear no more. I read an article in First Magazine (June 18, 2007) about this new dietary strategy that balances blood sugar and melts belly fat.  Do you want to try this dietary strategy? If yes, you may keep reading and then send me your results.

According to the article, experts have determined that about 46% of American women are battling extra weight because of insulin resistance.  The bottom line is that studies at the University of Utah revealed that insulin resistance "causes the body to increase production of a "master fat" called ceramide.

Well, let me tell you,
that information about a "master fat" really got my attention.
So, I decided to read the complete article and give it a try.

It says that ceramide,
which is a fatty acid, embeds itself in cell membranes to act as signaling molecule.
Then, I thought, but what is the signal? What is the message?

The article continues the explanation and says that "ceramide" tells the pancreas and muscles
not to burn glucose for fuel.  Wait a minute, hello, not getting rid of fat?

Moreover, it signals the adrenals that the body is stressed.
Consequently, the glands produce more appetite triggering cortisol.
At this point, things started to make some sense, at least for me.

Let's keep reading, according to the studies, the body uses the glucose and calories
from the extra food to lay down more abdominal fat.
In simple words, the famous "ceramide signaling" causes an increase in stored belly fat,
revving appetite and the blood sugar flux that fat triggers.

Then, I said "Hey Anna, fear no more! You might be having too many ceramide signaling which is why despite exercising and dieting, you still have that belly fat."

Thanks God, the studies revealed not only the problem, but also the solution.  This solution is called "Linking," which is a dietary strategy to help us link or pair the "culprit foods" with any of the "hero foods."

The studies indicate that women can lose up to 60% more belly fat, according to Canadian researchers.  Some dieters reported losing 15 pounds in 14 days. Plus, this "linking" dietary strategy shows that it cuts diabetes risk by 67%, eases stress, sleep problems and give you more energy.

Here is the Linking Dietary Strategy to help you melt belly fat, balance blood sugar and lose pounds:

  • Maintain a ratio of one protein serving (7 grams) for every 15-gram serving of carbs.
  • Mix and match from thr following pairs to eliminate belly fat faster
  • Eat every 2 hours to avoid the "2-hour fat trap."

Pair any of these culprit foods (with the hero foods group)

1/2 cup rice or pasta
1 slice sandwich bread
1/2 cup mashed potatoes
1/3 bagel
1/2 cup any fruit or fruit juice
2 cups microwave popcorn
7 thin wheat cracker or 25 small cheese crackers
1 packet instant oatmeal

Heros food group

1/2 cup beans, hummus, or chickpeas
2 tbs. peanut butter
2 oz. nuts (a small handful)
2 slices lunch meat
1/2 cup ice cream
1 egg
1 oz meat, poultry or fish (the size of a domino)
1 cup dairy, such as sugar-free yogurt or milk.

I hope the information is helpful and might help you with your weight loss strategy.  I will give it a try for a week with some modification.  I add lots of fresh fruits and fresh vegetables.  I hope the "masters fat ceramide" will not be upset. Let me know if you try it.  I am certainly curious to know about your results.  You can read more about this linking dietary strategy in the First Magazine issue June 18, 2007.
