Which is the best butt exercise?

By Anna O.

Which butt exercise is more effective to get well-developed glutes?  Squats or leg presses? According to EMG studies, a technique that measures the activation of muscles during exercise, Squats are the best overall exercise not only to get a firm butt, but also for the lower body.  It works the gluteal muscles, hips, butt and thighs.

However, butt exercises alone won't improve a flabby and saggy butt.
Cardio exercise is needed to burn general body fat, which include fat around the butt area.
You can also get a fat burner supplement to help you get rid of that fat faster
If your target is to firm up your rear and get a toned butt, then, cardio and butt exercises is your best combination to get your buns of steel.

My favorite butt exercise were leg presses.  I thought it was better for developing the gluteus maximus, yet EMC shows that squats are more effective than leg presses.  I did include squats for my lower body workout, but did not emphasize them much.

On the other hand, step-ups and lunges, according to EMG, were best for building the gluteus medius and minimus.  Lunges work many muscles, such as the glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves.

These are some of the most effective butt exercises to help you tighten and toning your butt:

  • Back Squats
  • Dumbbell Squats
  • Dumbbell Lunges
  • Leg Presses
  • Lunges
  • Butt Lift
  • Steps
  • Kickboxing

I will review my butt exercise routine to develop a toned buns of steel.

Which is your best butt exercise and why?
