1. Do Cardio Exercise not only Abs exercises to Get Flat Abs Abs exercises alone will not help you get rid of all the thick stored fat around your midsection. Doing a cardio exercise routine will help you boost your metabolism and burn stored fat, which obviously include that fat around your midsection.

Cardio Exercise Tips:
You can do at least 30 to 45 minutes of cardio exercises at least 3 to 5 days a week.

You can burn from 350 to 700 calories per hour
depending on your intensity. For example, do some jogging, running, or dancing. You may also use a home video cardio exercise routine, a treadmill, or an elliptical. Or try working out without equipment doing kick-boxing, or running in the park.

Use your imagination. Most important thing is to get you start exercising. A SUPER hint to get those flats is to try “Belly Dancing” techniques because it targets your midsection muscles, including upper and lower abdominals.

You can follow this suggested cardio exercise/abs to get you started.

Monday - Wednesday - Friday

30-45 minutes cardio exercises

Monday and Thursday

Abdominal exercises

Saturday and Sunday

Participate in physical activities, go out, dance, jog, run, swim, hike. Enjoy your favorite cardio activity.

2. Get Rid of Stress to Get Rid of Stored Fat mainly from your Midsection

Learn to relax, stress is not good for your health and it is your main “enemy” to get rid of fat. When you are under constant pressure, the hormone cortisol level is high.

Consequently, your body deposits more fat around your midsection. Yes, right there, around your waistline, just where you don’t want it. This is why you have difficulty losing that stored fat despite doing hundred of crunches.
Cortisol, which is a steroid hormone, is produced in the adrenal gland in response to stress. Hence, you need to relax to release tension and help shed stored fat around your midsection and avoid that spare tire.

Simple as this, according to new studies stress produces excessive cortisol. It is no wonder why you experience the urge to eat, cravings for sweets, and usually high carbohydrate foods, not even mentioning junk food. Consequently, your insulin levels goes to the top, then plummet. All that excess of cortisol and tension just increase your appetite. Just stretch, breathe, and think positive.

3. Your Diet – Watch What You Eat

First, tell me, are you drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily? Yes or No?

This is one of the main pitfalls for successful weight loss plan and have that bloated tummy despite exercising. Do you know that water suppresses your appetite naturally and helps your body metabolize stored body fat? Many studies indicate that lack of will cause fat deposits to increase, while and increase in water can actually reduce fat deposits.
Here is the reason. Your kidneys cannot function properly without having enough water.

Therefore, when your kidneys are not functioning to normal capacity, some of the workload is taken on by your liver. Now, you will ask me, what does the liver has to do with not getting my flat abs?

Simply, the liver’s primary function is precisely to metabolize stored body fat into usable energy. Do you see the logic?

The point is if the liver has to do some of the kidneys work, it can’t function at its optimal capacity. Consequently, it metabolizes less fat and more fat remains stored. Bingo! Now, you get it. You see why it is important to drink your 8 glasses of water to help you flush body toxins, keep your body hydrated, and get rid of stored fat.

So, now, you are seeing the point on why maybe you are not achieving your flat abs despite exercising. You can read my article on “Lose Weight Faster, 13 Tips to Drink Water.”

Definitely, a high carb diet, junk foods, and consuming high amounts of saturated fat will not help you get rid of stored fat around your midsection, but have the opposite effect. Watching what you eat is important as well as exercising.

For example, instead of using lard or regular saturated oil, use olive oil, which is mono-unsaturated and will help your digestion better. On the other hand, Omega-3 fat, which is another friendly fat, will help you reduce another stress hormone “adrenaline.”

Make sure you are consuming enough protein to help you burn more calories while toning your muscles (including abdominals). For protein, you can have milk, cottage cheese, yogurt, low fat cheeses, eggs, almonds or a Protein Drink Shake to guarantee your daily protein intake (each scoop will give you 20 gr. of whey protein).

Ideally, you can follow a Mediterranean diet, which is full of fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, grains, olive oil, and even wine.

Eat, drink & be thin on the Mediterranean Diet!

In conclusion, start applying the 3 Simple Weight Loss Tips to help you see results faster. Again, remember, you need to burn 3500 calories to get rid of 1 pound of stored fat. Make your calculations and divide your routine. Bottom line, it is the combination of exercising, diet, and relaxation that can help you maximize your Weight Loss Plan and get rid of unwanted stored fat, especially around your midsection to get your dreamed flat abs.
